PT DAHANA along with the other members of the defense industry SOEs holding, DEFEND ID, exhibited defense product innovations at the Research and Development Agency Field of the Ministry of Defense, at the Defense Technology Innovation Week 2022 event held from 11 to 12 August 2022.
The event, which was organized by the Ministry of Defense’s Research and Development Department, was under the theme of “Research and Development and Innovation of Defense Technology in Realizing Independence of Main Apparatus for Defense System”. Dozens of participants from SOEs, private companies, and the public exhibited defense products at the National Technology Research and Development Day commemoration of the Ministry of Defense.
In his remarks, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense Vice Marshall TNI Donny Ermawan Taufanto representing the Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto said that Indonesia needed a modern and high-tech Main Apparatus for Defense System (Alutsista) which obtained through a targeted research and development process.
“Interconnectivity of State-Owned Enterprises, Private-Owned Enterprises, and R&D is expected to contribute to realization of the independence of the national defense apparatus,” he said.
In line with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense, Head of Research and Development Department of Ministry of Defense, Rear Marshall Julexi Tambayong explained that this activity was held to commemorate National Technology Day (Harteknas), and to follow up on the direction of the Minister of Defense during his earlier visits to several campuses to synergize academics, researchers, and the defense technology industry.
“This event is a forum for smart ideas of researchers and academics to realize the independence of the national defense system with future technology,” he said.
Mr Tambayong said that the right innovation in defense technology also has a big impact on society, known as the dual-use system, for instance, the Global Positioning System (GPS) technology innovation that started from the military which now has developed in such a way, and provided benefits to the wider community.
During the event, DAHANA, which also has adapted the dual-use system principle (military and commercial explosives), exhibited innovative defense technology products made by the Energetic Material Center (EMC), such as P Series Bombs, Defense Rockets, single base and dual base propellants, to the latest technology is Rajata.
